People often ask, Why build a Memorial of this sort?
This video offers part of the answer to that question. Most of us have never lost a loved one killed in the service of our country. For those who have, this Memorial is a fitting tribute to those who gave their all for America.
There is an expression, "Freedom is not free." Those who served on foreign soil deserve to be honored and remembered. At a time in our history when the very foundations of our democracy are precarious at best, we decided to construct a place where Veterans can be quietly and respectfully given our thanks. Their personal sacrifice is a thing that will resonate forever.
